“It’s been two years since the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K took to the streets of Jozi and we are motivated more than ever to give Joburg an on-route celebration to remember,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series. “Joburg’s leading performing arts groups are guaranteed to have runners in awe. When you pass them on-route stop, enjoy the performance, and even take a selfie. The artists are hungry for the interaction and support. Incorporating sections of the M1 and M2 Highways in 2022, the route will once again highlight a selection of Joburg’s iconic landmarks. Be sure to take in the vibe while enjoying the sounds and sights of Jozi.”

“We are also excited to welcome back spectacular sponsor activations including the Absa Vibe Point, PUMA Beat Bolt Sprint, DHL Mile To Go and a new and exciting Chery Vibe Point to mention just a few,” continues Meyer. “Runners can look forward to experiencing high octane energy with interactive performances from start to finish at the 2022 Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K. We are encouraging everyone to be part of the 10km Joburg race to be a force for good and make an impact in communities in which we operate. By simply downloading the Strava App and joining Team Absa Walk Run, Absa will donate R1 for every 1km run/walked towards buying running shoes for those in need. After successful races in Cape Town and Durban, we look ahead with much excitement to the Joburg-leg of the race on Heritage Day. Siyabangena.”
