The organisers of the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN together with the Zonkizizwe Athletics Club are looking forward to taking the golden city by storm on Saturday, 24 September 2016 (National Heritage Day).
“Stillwater Sports has a longstanding relationship with the Zonkizizwe Athletics Club,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “We value their expertise in the field of road running. Together with the club’s support and knowhow, we look forward to hosting an event like no other in the bustling city of Johannesburg.”
“Johannesburg is a fiery city that boasts a rich heritage with endless possibilities,” says Neo Selebi, Chairman of the Zonkizizwe Athletics Club. “We need to remind people of this. We are excited to be involved with an event that encourages runners to explore their city. Running enriches lives. From Zonkizizwe’s perspective, we are trying to promote a healthy lifestyle which will result in a healthy body and mind.”
“The club boasts a wealth of experience in different fields pertaining to athletics,” continues Selebi. “We have route measurers, referees, coaches for track and field and road running. Building up to the event the club is involved in the logistics, while on event day our involvement will include overseeing the start and finish areas, the manning of water-stations and marshalling points and ensuring that all personnel are deployed out on route. We will also assist runners in finding their correct start chutes. Although it will be a fast race for the elite runners, we encourage the social runners to savour the moment. Enjoy the on-route festivities, enjoy exploring your city.”

About the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN sponsorship:
FNB Business has decided to sponsor the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN because we believe in supporting a race that encourages people to run and know their city; a race that will re-invent how people perceive and experience the city centre. The FNB Bank City buildings are well-known and iconic buildings in the Johannesburg CBD and the precinct was recently revamped in 2015 with three lifestyle concepts of Work, Eat & Play in mind. For many years it has been viewed as traditional banking headquarters; however the recent revamp has positively changed the experience of the precinct. The additions of new restaurants, coffee shops, health & beauty stores and other stores of interest have been well received. Sponsoring the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN is aligned to our belief in the importance of rejuvenating and reviving the city centre so it remains relevant.
